(I want to apologize first off for being late both Wednesdays and todays blog, I've been busy with football, school, and scholarship searches. I hope that as I continue these blogs I can be better putting them out on time, but if we have to change the times I will)
Happy Saturday everyone! I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!
Thursday, we played the Bishop Blanchet Braves at Everett Memorial Stadium. It was a tough loss to a really good football team.
The first half they beat us on the physicality side, but we also made mistakes on our side. We shot ourselves in the foot a lot, and when you play a team like Blanchet, you just can't do that, they give you no room for error. They took advantage of our mistakes, and we struggled to respond in the first half.
Besides giving up 4 big pass plays, I can say that defensively we made them work. They are a team that looks for the big explosive plays, but a majority of the game we played physical and slowed them down offensively.
The second half we played a lot better, outscoring them 14-7.
On the offensive line, I am proud of my guys. There were some errors, mistakes, and lack of communication that can be fixed with work. They had some good defensive linemen and a very physical defense, but they didn't quit. They played four quarters and fought extremely hard until the whistle.
OVERALL: We played a great football team and we played hard, but Bishop Blanchet just made more plays than us and just beat us. The biggest take away from the game was the heart our team showed. We will continue to work and learn and get better. On to Mt.Vernon
We are playing Mt. Vernon Friday at 7pm at Mt. Vernon. Mt. Vernon is a good team, better than they have been in the past. We are going to put this loss behind us and be ready to go! I have practiced the past two days, and will be ready to go one week from Friday vs Jackson.
Thanks for reading!! Be sure to check in Wednesday, Go Bruins!
